Green Fingers at Bob Fowler's Community Allotment

This small allotment in Sittingbourne was a site for sore eyes when it became a victim of fly tipping.

However, all that changed when former Optivo Employee Bob Fowler, of the Estate Services Team, worked tirelessly to clear the rubbish. He turned this into a beautiful, green community site, for people to learn how to grow their own food, before he sadly passed away in 2012.

Since then, volunteer coordinator Dave has been maintaining the site, which had to close during COVID restrictions. Now, with Dave looking to retire, we’re looking for people to take on plots and someone to become the new volunteer project coordinator.

We’ve 8 available plots and 6 which are looked after by local schools, children centres and some residents from our Regis Gate scheme.
