Make your own Jubilee bunting!

The Daffodils are in bloom, Spring is in the air and we are all thinking about one thing…getting back outside!

And with the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee just around the corner, why not host your own garden party to make the most of the sunshine and celebrate with your family?

Here, we show you how to make your very own bunting, so you can decorate your garden from as little as £3!

What you’ll need:

String
Coloured paper/card
Scissors
Glue or a stapler

(Always supervise children when using scissors and staplers)

How To:

Firstly, lay out your string to the length you’d like your bunting to be. You can make this as long or as short as you like.

Tie a small loop each end, this will help you hang your bunting up!

Next, cut your coloured paper or card into diamond shapes. These can be as small or as big as you like, but remember we’re going to halve them into triangles, so keep that in mind when choosing your size.

Lay your diamond shapes out flat on the floor, with the string on top, through the middle. Take time to play with the spacing of them, and the order you’d like them if you’re using more than one colour

Once you’re happy, fold the diamonds into triangles, so the string is between them. You can secure them with either a strip of glue or staples along the top, just under where the string is sitting.

And there you have it! Bunting for your garden party for as little as £3!
