We'll be delivering 67 affordable homes to Purley after agreeing a deal to purchase land at 11-21 Banstead Road.

The £24m development was granted planning permission by Croydon Council in October last year and construction is due to start this summer.

The two attractive apartment blocks will feature a mixture of much-needed one, two and three-bedroom modern homes, including some which are wheelchair accessible.

It will be built next to the site where Optivo is currently delivering 106 homes as part of phase one of the ambitious “Mosaic Place” regeneration project.

Mosaic Place will see the redevelopment of two separate sites in Purley. It will provide 3,452 sqm state of the art community and worship centre, retail space and 220 new homes.

Ian Hagger, Director of Land and New Business at Optivo, said:

“We understand the difference safe, secure and affordable homes can make to people’s lives. We’ve a proven track record of building high quality homes in the borough and are pleased to be extending our presence within the Purley area. We develop places with people, not profit, in mind and pride ourselves on creating thriving communities. We look forward to helping more families in housing need.”

The development will include beautiful communal gardens for residents to enjoy and play spaces for children.

It will feature 128 cycle parking spaces for residents, with two cycle stores on the ground floor of both blocks.

Residents will be just a short walk from Purley train station, providing easy access to London. They will also be close to a number of restaurants, cafes, supermarkets, schools and public open spaces.

The development will see the demolition of three pairs of semi-detached houses to make way for the new homes. Work is due to complete at the end of 2024.
