Rosie, who is chair of our resident scrutiny panel, has been awarded a British Empire Medal (BEM) for her work on residents’ and fire safety.

For more than two decades, she’s been a leading tenant representative at Optivo.

Since the Grenfell fire, Rosie has played a national role in championing fire safety in social housing, including advising MHCLG (Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government).

She won an Inside Housing award and was appointed a tenant ambassador for their Resident Safety Campaign, which aims to persuade social landlords to involve tenants in safety decision-making.

We’re incredibly proud of Rosie, this is well deserved recognition for her efforts.

Rosie's award follows our Chief Executive Paul Hackett and involved resident Monica Barnes being recognised in the New Year Honours list in December 2020.

Paul was awarded the CBE, while Monica received an MBE.
