Trainee Double Glazing Repair Engineer Opportunity

Are you long term unemployed and not in education or training? Are you looking to learn a new trade and start a career in double glazing? Optivo and Cosyseal have partnered up to bring you this fantastic trainee opportunity!


The ideal candidate will have a good communication and presentation skills, be hardworking and have a willingness to learn about the trade. You’ll gain the skills on how to carry out repairs and installations to double glazed window and doors to a high standard. You’ll be working alongside an in-house team of Installers, Engineers and Surveyors and will be able to undertake an NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Fenestration.
Successful candidates will undergo a half day practical workshop at Cosyseal’s training facility where a Cosyseal engineer will lead them through window repairs and installation.

Main duties includes:

  • Processing deliveries.
  • Preparing residents windows/doors ready for the engineers.
  • Maintain and upkeep the cleanliness of the environment.
  • Manual handling of glass and frames.
  • Assist engineers with diagnosing repairs promptly and accurately
  • Attend residents’ properties to carry out repairs, some of which may be replacing blown units, replacing catches, handles or locks, re-alignment or replacement of whole window or door units.
Location: Croydon
Duration: Full time, 1 year fix term with the opportunity to permanent employment.
Wage: National Minimum Wage
Interview date: 23rd August and onwards (TBC)

What’s the eligibility criteria?

  • Not currently in any paid employment or training
  • Live in London
  • Have lived in the UK for over 3 years
  • Aged 18 and over
  • Proof of right to work in UK (e.g. UK Passport / EU Passport with UK settlement / UK Residency permit with settlement or UK birth certificate - birth certificates must be accompanied by photo ID)
  • Have proof of address (less than 3 months old e.g. any Utility bills letter / Bank statement or letter / HMRC letter / Council letter / DWP letter / Driving Licence with current address)
  • Have proof of national insurance (e.g. NI Card / Letter from Jobcentre / HMRC letter P45 or P60 / any letters with your NI and name visible)
  • Proof of benefit (e.g. benefit letter or UC benefit statement screen-print)
  • Provide a current CV
