The days, attended by over 50 residents were designed to help clear up by picking litter and tidying the verges and play areas.

Fun activities were held and a lunch was provided by ‘The Community Chef’. Games were organised by ‘Active Hastings’, local artists attended to support children in getting creative and Hastings Museum even visited with real dinosaur bones.

Volunteers and operatives from Hastings Borough Council and CleanUpUK attended to help pick litter and dispose of it properly, bringing along tools to help get right to the heart of what was needed.

The event was organised by Optivo and supported by Broomgrove Community Centre and Oasis.

As a result of the event, 20 bags of rubbish were collected, along with a quad bike, garden bench and pieces of furniture.

Residents who attended agreed they feel proud of their community and where they live, and are happy to be helping our environment.

A pledge of £500 from Hastings Borough Council Community Safety  was even received for future activities and events.
