“This apartment is much bigger than where we lived before. We are moving here with our baby and feel there is plenty of space to accommodate the three of us.”

Delighted couple Rakesh and Vidya have become the first to move into our multi-million pound development for NHS workers at St Peter’s Hospital.

We’re boosting our housing capacity for key workers by providing 147 high quality apartments at the site in Chertsey.

United Living New Homes began building work in July 2020 and will be delivering the project over two phases.

The first phase has now completed and delivered 75 apartments of one, two and four bedrooms across six three-storey blocks.

The site is located just over a mile from the centre of Chertsey and will benefit from the existing services that currently facilitate the St Peter’s Hospital site.

Describing the moving process, Rakesh said: “I thought it would be quite stressful, but I don’t feel stressed at all. It has all been smooth, we feel very blessed. We’re really looking forward to being new Optivo tenants – I think we’ll be very happy here!”

Bunmi Atta, Director of Construction at Optivo, said: “It’s amazing to see ageing accommodation being replaced with these stunning modern buildings which are well designed, comfortable and sustainable. We look forward to welcoming even more of our amazing key workers into their new homes.”

This development is regenerating and breathing new life into part of the St Peter’s Hospital site and providing much needed affordable housing.

The second phase of the development will see the existing accommodation demolished and replaced with a further 72 apartments of one, two and four bedrooms. It is expected to complete in Spring 2024.
